There aren’t many things in this world that can compare to the pleasure of taking a large juicy bite off of a chicken wing. Nothing quite compares to the sensation of taking that first bite, from the crunch of the crust as your teeth make the first indentation to the steam from the hot chicken to the sauce that makes your fingers lick your fingers.
To your good fortune, you do not have to go to the dive bar in the neighborhood in order to enjoy a batch of chicken wings. The chicken wings you make in an air fryer are simple and crispy, and they can be prepared in approximately half an hour if you have an air fryer. When you try these wings cooked in an air fryer, you will wonder why you ever paid for sloppy wings from a takeout restaurant on game day.
About five minutes after being removed from the refrigerator, the wings are placed in the air fryer to be cooked. Considering its compact size and the fact that it is equipped with a convection function, the air fryer is an excellent device for cooking foods like chicken wings since it is able to circulate hot air in an efficient and even manner.
Chicken wings that are tasty and crispy may be made with only a few simple ingredients. The first ingredient is baking powder, which helps the skin brown and cook more quickly. The second ingredient is cornstarch, which dries the outermost layer of the chicken skin, which further simplifies the process of making chicken wings crispy. For the purpose of imparting taste, dried ingredients such as garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper are brought in.
Despite the fact that you are free to serve these straightforward chicken wings with whatever sauce you choose, my personal favorite is the Cholula Chili Garlic Hot Sauce that is combined with butter and a little bit of cornstarch.
Ingredients
- Chicken wings that have been cut into drums and flats for pounding
- 1 teaspoon of oil that is neutral
- 1 teaspoon of powdered baked goods
- One spoonful of cornstarch or potato starch
- Half of a teaspoon of powdered garlic
- 1/2 milligram of fresh onion powder
- A half of a teaspoon of black pepper, ground
- Using frying oil spray
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the air fryer to a temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2
Prepare the chicken wings by arranging them in a single layer and drying them with a paper towel.
Step 3
In a large basin, mix the wings with the oil until they are well covered. To the bowl, add the baking powder, starch, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper, and then mix everything together until it is evenly distributed.
Step 4
Put the wings in the basket of the air fryer with the skin side down. Cook them for twenty-five minutes, turning them over midway through the cooking process, or until an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit is reached by a meat thermometer placed into the thickest section of the flesh.
Step 5
When you have finished cooking the wings in the air fryer, remove them and add the sauce of your choice.
