During the Christmas season, a basket of fluffy pull-apart rolls is an essential component of every feast. Honey, along with more butter, is sprinkled on top of these adorable treats, providing the perfect amount of sweetness to match the savory spread you have chosen.

- 1 ¼-ounce package active dry yeast
- 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
- 1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt

- 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter, cut into small pieces, at room temperature, divided, plus more, melted, for brushing
- Canola oil, for greasing
- Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
Directions
Step 1
Milk should be heated in a liquid measuring cup for thirty to forty-five seconds, or until it is warm to the touch. After stirring in yeast and 1 1/2 teaspoons of honey, let the mixture to rest for about ten minutes until it becomes foamy.
Step 2
Mix the flour and salt together in a large basin using a whisk. Create a well in the middle of the bowl, then add the milk mixture and three tablespoons of minced butter. Make a shaggy dough by stirring it slowly with a wooden spoon until it forms.
To make the dough smooth and tacky, knead it for six to seven minutes on a work surface that has been lightly dusted with flour. If the dough is sticky, incorporate more flour one teaspoon at a time.
Step 3
Place the dough in a big basin that has been gently greased, and then cover it with plastic wrap. Place in a warm location and let to rise until it has doubled in volume, which should take between forty-five minutes and one hour.
Step 4
Apply melted butter to a square metal baking pan about 8 inches in diameter. Using just one piece at a time, form the dough into a ball and place it on the pan that has been prepared with the seam side down. The dough should be cut into sixteen pieces.
After covering the dough with plastic wrap, let it to rise for around thirty minutes, or until it has become puffy and does not bounce back when lightly probed with a finger. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 5
Combining the remaining three tablespoons of butter and the remaining half spoonful of honey in a small basin, microwave the mixture and whisk to blend. Apply honey butter over the top of the rolls in a gentle brushing motion.
Bake for 38 to 42 minutes, spraying the remaining honey butter halfway through the baking process, until the cake has puffed up and has a light golden brown color. If desired, crumble some flaky sea salt over the top.
