There is a widespread consensus that McDonald’s French fries are the gold standard when it comes to the fast-food sector. In spite of this, there is no ignoring the fact that they are among the most recognizable dishes that have ever been offered at a chain restaurant. Customers recently noticed a change to those famed fried potatoes, and they had a lot of things to say about it. This should not come as surprise to these customers since they have been giving feedback on the adjustment.
A customer of McDonald’s reported in a post that was published on Reddit the previous week that a restaurant in the Bay Area of San Francisco is now providing big orders of French fries (480 calories) in bag rather than the typical red cartons. The post included the information that the establishment is now serving the fries in bags.
The post included an image of the new fry packaging, which is referred to as “Large Fries” but looks to be quite similar to the paper bags that McDonald’s currently uses for its small fry orders. The post also included a description of the new container.
Given that McDonald’s has not yet issued an official notice on the adjustment of its giant fry containers, it is not unexpected that a significant number of customers were taken aback by the move. In addition, a great number of individuals were worried that McDonald’s had discreetly reduced the amount of fries that were included in its big orders in conjunction with the launch of the new packaging.
A LARGE ONE???? Certainly, this is not true. Please accept my deepest apologies. On the other hand, the size is listed on the fry bag, therefore I think it is our obligation to modify expectations,” a user wrote on the article on Reddit. “It is our responsibility to adapt expectations accordingly.”
A separate person voiced their displeasure by saying, “If that’s a large serving of fries, I’d hate to know what a small serving of fries looks like.”
A significant lot of fury was aroused among the individuals who took part in the debate on Reddit as a result of these rumors. Some individuals even went so far as to call for a “boycott” of McDonald’s as a result of the shift.
Some individuals, on the other hand, have brought to light the fact that a modification in the packaging does not always imply that McDonald’s is giving a smaller quantity of fries in its big orders. The image demonstrated that the new packaging was higher than the box of Big Macs that was put next to it. This was the case despite the fact that the post on Reddit did not include any precise information on the size of the bag.
Following our questions for more information about the suspected change in packaging and whether or not the new big bags contain less fries than the old red cartons, a representative from McDonald’s did not immediately react to our inquiries. This was in response to our concerns.
Although the company has not yet issued a statement on the new fry containers, it has recently revealed that other classic products on the menu, such as the McFlurry, would be getting new packaging. However, the chain has not yet provided a comment on the new fry containers. McDonald’s has created a new “mini” McFlurry size as well as packing that is more ecologically friendly for the blended frozen delight. Both of these changes were made at the beginning of this month.
According to McDonald’s, the new McFlurry spoons will bring the company closer to its goal of sourcing fifty percent of its primary guest the containers (specific disposable products used to package food at restaurants operated by McDonald’s and given to buyers in all ordering channels) from renewable, recycled, or certified materials by the middle of the year 2025. This goal is intended to be achieved by the company.
