Customers of Taco Bell have had a wonderful time during the fall of 2024 as a result of the reintroduction of long-standing fan favorites that had been canceled, such as the Tostada, Meximelt, Gordita Supreme, and Green Sauce Burrito. Currently, fans are in for yet another massive dose of excitement as a result of the return of yet another well-liked burrito to the menus of certain restaurants unexpectedly.
It has been discovered that the Chili Cheese Burrito (380 calories) offered by Taco Bell, which is comprised of seasoned beef chili and melty shredded cheddar that is encased inside a tortilla, is now accessible at locations in some regions of the nation where it was previously unavailable.
At the beginning of this week, a customer of Taco Bell posted on Reddit that they had seen the burrito on the menus of “a bunch of locations” in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. We went to a number of different Taco Bell restaurants in Virginia and checked the menus for ourselves. We found that the burrito was, in fact, available for purchase at those particular establishments.
When I arrived, they had a sign up, which put my mind at ease. I had been concerned that it could have been an error. The consumer stated, “I got mine supreme, and it was a complete and utter joy.”
This week, another Taco Bell customer claimed that the Chili Cheese Burrito was suddenly available at their local location. This information was shared on Reddit in a different post. (They did not provide the location in any detail.)
“So I went to my normal Taco Bell, and saw this lovely thing make a comeback,” the customer commented, uploading a snapshot of the burrito via the Taco Bell app at the same time. When I return tomorrow, I will be sure to pick up a few of them. If I hadn’t previously placed an order, I would have received some of it. Why am I so ecstatic?
In the middle of the 1990s, only a few years after it was first released, the Chili Cheese Burrito was officially withdrawn off the majority of Taco Bell’s menus. However, some locations continued to offer it even after it was removed from the national menu. This prompted enthusiasts to build an internet map in order to locate establishments that continue to serve the burrito.
There are reports that the Chili Cheese Burrito is making its way back to select restaurants; however, it does not seem to be accessible in all locations throughout the country. For example, the burrito that I go to at my Taco Bell in the middle of New Jersey does not have it mentioned among the options that they have available.
Following our inquiries for more information on the locations in the United States where the Chili Cheese Burrito is presently being sold, a representative from Taco Bell did not immediately react to our inquiries. In the meanwhile, the fans who are interested in obtaining the uncommon but cherished burrito can check with their neighborhood Taco Bell to see whether or not they are among the shops that are participating in the promotion.
Taco Bell seems to be putting a lot of emphasis on nostalgia as of late, as seen by the resurrection of the Chili Cheese Burrito as well as other classics that had been discontinued. The Tostada, which has 170 calories, the Meximelt, which has 250 calories, the Gordita Supreme, which has 280 calories, and the Green Sauce Burrito, which has 370 calories, were all introduced on October 31 as part of the chain’s new Decades Menu.
This menu is a tribute to the defunct items that were popular in the prior decades. Because they will only be available for a short time, buyers who are interested in purchasing them should do so as soon as they are able to.
Additionally, the Caramel Apple Empanada, which will be the fifth and final item on the Decades Menu, will be introduced later this month, and Taco Bell fans may look forward to its arrival. On November 21, the much-anticipated reappearance of the deep-fried pastry, which is packed with chopped apples and caramel sauce, will be made available to customers once more.
